Kestrel Coffee
Roasting on Gloucester Road since 2018

Coffee worth crossing the road for

We roast on Wednesdays, bake at six and open at half seven. Small-batch beans, proper pastries and nobody hurrying you out.

No bookings. Walk in, order at the counter, find a seat.

Who we are

A former bike shop, a second-hand roaster and two stubborn people

We opened in 2018 in what used to be a bike repair shop, with a 6 kg roaster bought off a farm in Somerset and the idea that good coffee shouldn't feel like an exam.

We buy green beans from importers who publish what they pay growers, and we roast every Wednesday morning. Everything in the counter is baked here: the sausage rolls, the buns and the sourdough for the toasties.

  • Single-origin beans roasted in the shop every week
  • Vegan and gluten-free options on the counter every day
  • Wifi, plug sockets and a big table you can actually work at
