Aguja Fina Studio
Tattoo studio in Seville · by appointment only

Look at the work first. We'll talk about the rest afterwards

Fine line, blackwork, black-and-grey realism and lettering. There are three of us and each has her own style, so the first thing is to look at the portfolio and decide who you want to be tattooed by. Then you come to the studio, we talk through the design with no obligation and you leave with a quote and a date.

  • Three styles, three artists
  • Single-use kit, opened in front of you
  • Over-18s only, with ID

Single-use disposable equipment at every session, needles opened in front of you. We do not tattoo under-18s: ID is required, with no exceptions and no parental waiver.

The styles we work in

Each of us has her own thing and we don't pretend otherwise. If what you want isn't ours, we'll tell you which studio in Seville to go to: better to send you to someone who nails it than to do it half well ourselves.

Fine lineMost requested

from €70 for small pieces

Continuous, clean linework, small and medium pieces: botanicals, silhouettes, symbols. It ages well if the minimum size is respected, and we tell you that beforehand: some designs at three centimetres close up within two years.

See examples

Blackwork and geometric

per session, from €320

Solid black, patterns and large geometric work: arm, thigh, back. Designed on your body, not on paper: symmetry has to follow your shape, which is why we test the stencil before starting.

See examples

Black-and-grey realism

per session, from €320

Portraits, animals and objects with depth. It needs good reference photos and, almost always, more than one session. We tell you how many when we see the photo, and if the reference isn't good enough we ask for another instead of improvising.

See examples

Lettering and script

from €90

Hand-drawn calligraphy and lettering, in Spanish or any language. If the phrase isn't in a language you know well, bring it checked by someone who does: we don't translate and we don't want to write a mistake on your skin.

Cover-ups and reworks

free consultation · quote after seeing it

Covering an old tattoo or rescuing one that went wrong. Assessed in person with the piece in front of us: you can't tell from a photo whether it can be covered. The first consultation is free and sometimes the honest answer is 'this needs laser lightening first'.

Touch-ups

free within the first year

At two or three months, if any gaps appear as it heals. Free within the first year on work done here, provided the aftercare was followed. A tattoo burnt by the sun a month later isn't a touch-up: we explain that beforehand.

See the aftercare

We don't currently do colour work, microblading or piercings. If that's what you're after, ask and we'll point you somewhere.

Prices

How a tattoo is priced here

Neither by the centimetre nor by the hour: by piece and by session, with the price agreed before we start. Two designs that take two hours aren't worth the same if one has twenty hours of drawing behind it.

Small piece

Fine line, symbols, short lettering. Done in one go.

  • Design included, with one revision before stencilling
  • The price is fixed before we start
  • €50 deposit, deducted from the total
  • Free touch-up within the first year

Full day

Large pieces: sleeve, back, full thigh.

  • Design worked up separately, with a meeting beforehand
  • The studio is yours that day: we take nobody else
  • Lunch and breaks built into the schedule
  • €150 deposit, deducted from the total
  • If more sessions are needed, they're planned that same day
  • Free touch-up within the first year

TO HOLD A DATE we take a €50 deposit (€150 for full-day sessions) which comes off the final price. Cancel with more than 72 hours' notice and the deposit moves to another date. With less notice, or if you don't show up, the deposit is lost: the slot can no longer be given to anyone else. Paid in cash or by card at the studio, and you're shown the design before paying anything more.

The studio

Three artists, one working room and no rush

Aguja Fina opened in 2016 on calle Feria. There are three of us, we work by appointment and there's never more than one person being tattooed at a time: it's a small room and we'd rather you were comfortable than fit in three chairs.

Equipment is single-use and opened in front of you: needles, cartridges, inks in individual caps, film and gloves. Anything not disposable is sterilised and logged. The studio's health registration number is on the wall, and whoever tattoos you will show it to you if you ask.

And one thing we always say: if you come in with doubts, we don't tattoo you that day. We send you home with the design and talk again in a week. A tattoo done in a hurry is regretted at leisure.

  • Single-use kit, opened in front of you
  • Only one person being tattooed at a time
  • Health registration number displayed on the wall

Book a slot and the date is held with the deposit

Tell us the idea, the part of the body, the rough size and which of us you'd like to be tattooed by. We reply within 48 hours with the style that fits, a rough price and the slots available. The date isn't held until you leave the deposit at the studio.

Aftercare: what happens over the next three weeks

A tattoo is a wound. What you do in the first fortnight decides how it looks in ten years' time, so this isn't small print: it's half the job, and it's the half that's yours.

The first few hours. You leave the studio with a protective film on. Leave it on for two to four hours if it's standard film, or two to four days if we've applied a second-skin dressing: we tell you which one you have before you go. Wash your hands before removing it.

The first ten days. Wash the tattoo two or three times a day with lukewarm water and mild soap, with your hand, no sponge. Pat it dry with kitchen paper, never the bathroom towel. Then a thin layer of healing cream: genuinely thin, so it can breathe. If it shines, you've used too much.

What will happen and is normal. Between days 3 and 7 a thin scab forms and it itches a lot. Don't scratch and don't pick anything off: every scab you pull takes ink with it and leaves a gap. Around day 10 the skin looks dull or oddly shiny; that's the new layer, and by three weeks it clears on its own.

For three weeks, none of this: swimming pools, the beach, the sea, saunas, baths, the gym for the first three days, clothing that rubs and direct sun. Sun is the worst enemy of a fresh tattoo and of an old one too: once it's healed, factor 50 whenever it's exposed.

Call us if: heat and redness are getting worse after three days, there's pus, you have a fever, or at six weeks an area has healed light. The first is a matter for a doctor and we'll say so plainly; the last is a touch-up, which is free within the first year.

What people ask before their first appointment

Straight answers, the one about pain included.

Do you tattoo under-18s?

No. We do not tattoo anyone under 18 and we ask for ID before starting, with no exceptions. Not with a signed parental permission either, nor if you come accompanied: the answer is the same. If you're a few months short, come back when you turn 18 and we'll keep the design for you.

How does the deposit work?

The date isn't held until you leave the deposit at the studio: €50 for normal sessions and €150 for full-day ones. That amount comes off the final price, it isn't an extra. If you need to change the date, more than 72 hours' notice moves it at no cost. With less notice, or a no-show, it's lost: that slot can no longer be given to anyone else.

Does it hurt a lot?

Yes, it hurts, but it's bearable and it depends enormously on the area. Forearm and calf, manageable. Ribs, sternum, top of the foot, elbow and knee, considerably worse. Nobody endures eight hours straight and nobody needs to: we stop when you need to. Eat before you come, don't turn up hung over and bring something sugary.

Can I bring my own design?

You can bring references, and the more the better. What we don't do is copy someone else's tattoo exactly: it's another artist's work and it was made for another body. We take the idea and draw it for you. You'll see the design before it's stencilled and one revision is included; beyond the second, we talk.

What if I'm pregnant, on medication or have a mole there?

Pregnant or breastfeeding, we don't tattoo: it isn't scaremongering, it's that there's no need to take that risk over a few months. If you're on medication (blood thinners, isotretinoin, immunosuppressants) ask your doctor first and tell us. And we never tattoo over a mole: we work around it, because covering a mole stops you seeing it change.

Can a tattoo I hate be removed or covered?

Covering, often yes, but it has to be seen in person: nobody serious can tell you from a photo. It depends on how dark it is, how big it is and whether you're willing for the new one to be bigger and darker. Sometimes the answer is to lighten it first with two or three laser sessions, and that's done by a clinic, not by us. The consultation here is free.

Can I bring someone with me?

One person, yes, and on long sessions it's welcome. More than one, no: it's a small room and whoever is being tattooed needs space and quiet. Animals, assistance dogs only. And if you're coming with someone who faints at needles, better they wait outside.

By appointment only

We don't take walk-ins: if you come to the door, the odds are we're tattooing and can't open it. Write to us and we'll arrange a time, even if it's just to see the studio and talk about the design.

Tell us the idea

Four things are enough for us to answer properly: what you want tattooed, where on your body, roughly what size and which of the three of us you'd like. Attach references and, if you can, a photo of the area: it helps enormously to know whether the design fits and how it will sit.

We reply within 48 working hours. If you write on a Monday, we'll read it on Tuesday: we close on Mondays to draw.
